HOT ISSUES ON ROBIN AND MARIEL

By | July 2, 2015

These days’ hot issues have engulfed the couple Robin Padilla and Mariel Rodriguez. With the news that Robin shoots a suspense thriller titled Nilalang opposite the well know Japanese porn star Maria Ozawa, being a jealous type of wife, how does Mariel react on the supposedly torrid bed scenes of Robin and Maria to be shot as reported.
Then the query why after years of togetherness, Robin has not converted yet to Muslim religion. Mariel’s response on the above mentioned was relayed to me by my colleague who had a chat with Mariel recently.
“I haven’t met Maria in person. Robin has not told me about that supposed bold sequences. So I’ve no comment. But if it’s vital part in the story, I should do the right thing. I’d allow my husband who’s a very professional actor. Trabaho lang, so to say.” Mariel drawled.
About her religion preference, my source revealed the exact words of Mariel. “I Love the Muslim people and the Islam sect. But I still don’t know to pray in Arabic. I’m quite uncomfortable to wear the hijab. Gusto ko 100% na magagawa ko before I embrace the Islam faith.”
After Mariel’s miscarriage she prioritizes to have a baby. Both Mariel and Robin have exuded confidence that in due time that elusive dream would transpire.
Trivia:
Knowing Boy Abunda even in the ‘70s, his remarkable achievements as a movie writer, manager of talents and TV host had been anticipated by this writer. To begin with, I met boy when he was still a college student. To begin with, he dropped by my office to befriend us (co-workers the late Douglas Quijano and Franklin Cabaluna who were the original pro-talent managers of celebrities).
Albeit Boy studied in first class school, with a well to do family background, he impressed me with his humility and compassion for others as he shared his stories. To top it, Boy honestly admitted his gender preference and being an ardent movie fan. It was no surprise that years later, Boy emerged a very successful movie journalist turned manager of tyros and a TV host.
One time, in a showbiz gathering we bumped into each other again. Boy enthused to those around us that he knew me when he was still a student, got impressed by my amiable nature. I bounced back with this statement.” Hanga ako sa iyo kasi sikat ka na kilala mo pa rin ako. You’re still humble.”
Boy’s hosting talent has been recognized not only with awards as TV host locally but also at the Asian TV Festival where he got the best TV program host for Dateline: Abunda twice in a row. Every now and then I’ve heard his monetary assistance to his chums and those in need, a charitable person that he is. Currently, Boy had a big financial share in the surgical operation of his longtime favorite Nora Aunor in a U.S. hospital.
However, what I have valued most about Boy falls on his personal concern on me, in more ways than one. At the time I was the president of the Movie Writers and Press Photographers Association of the Philippines (MOWPPAP) that would raise funds for jobless and hospitalized media people, together with the late Fernando Poe Jr. and Sharon Cuneta, the three consistently sent huge sum to finance the club.
Prior to my departure to live with my family in Canada, this writer wrote, had launched a book on celebrities entitled The Untold Stories. I was touched when boy promoted it on his shows with urgent request to fans to get a copy of my book, saying a worth to be read indeed. Once more, Boy displayed to the hilt how dependable as friend he is.
In passing, from the ‘60s movie journalists who penetrated boob tube shows were the late Jose Quirino (Seeing Stars With JQ), Justo (Etchos Lang), Boy de Guia (original host of Star Talk), Billy Balbastro-Alfie Lorenzo (Rumors, Facts & Humors), this writer (Movie Scenes) and Aster Amoyo (Isang Tanong, Isang Sagot). Lately, Ricky Lo and Lolit Solis and Butch Francisco are the hosts of Star Talk.
Angelica, John Lloyd’s Near Break Up
Words run fast that Angelica Panganiban and John Lloyd Cruz already broke off .It still crops out albeit Angelica herself quashed it off. The truth of the matter, just recently she fetched Lloydie at the airport from his successful show in Spain.
Allegedly, the rumor hasn’t ceased out of Angelica’s admission that for almost a month the lovers were not on speaking terms due to a misunderstanding. However, her intimate clarified that the lovers were able to iron the kinks. “Now, the two showcase a sweeter relationship than before.” So I was told.
Added to this, Lloydie reportedly cajoled Angelica that he’s amazed of her first kontrabida role in Pangako sa Iyo, saying in jest it fits her to a T.
An Apology from Isabelle Daza
So it’s true that Kapamilya actress Isabelle Daza had initiated an apology to singer Dingdong Avanzado who’s the vice governor of Siquijor Province and its people. This was in connection with using SiquiWhores as the caption of her photo in the instagram taken at the said province.
Isabelle expounded she meant no offense but a mere joke, aside from the fact it’s her term of endearment with her cousins. An unperturbed Dingdong requested his constituents to accept Isabelle’s apology.
Incidentally, could it be true that Isabelle feels unhappy over her initial assignment at ABS-CBN, that of a villainess in the TV series Nathaniel? It was a far cry from her comical antics as one of the hosts at the GMA-7’s Eat Bulaga indeed. Nevertheless, she impresses a lot with her credible performance in that tele serye.
Willie’s New TV Show: Does it Click or not?
Those who are curious about the new GMA-7 program Wowowin which banners anew Willie Revillame seem obfuscate whether it clicks or not. Others have opined GMA-7 bigwigs are disappointed over the low rating in the survey on its viewership. But my chum Tarcila Castanares who remains Willie’s personal photographer did substantiate that it makes good.
“I’ve heard that there’s plan to extend to half hour Wowowin kasi nabibitin ang viewers sa panunuod dahil maikli ang time nito. It’s possible too it would be aired twice a week for the major sponsors of the show clamor for it.” Tarcila stressed. Willie has no umbrage if such move pushes through, if ever.
Spicy Tidbits:
Chums of Lovi Poe queried her if she’ll be uncomfortable to know that her bf Rocco Nacino will have a kssing scene with her best friend Heart Evangelista in the forthcoming TV series Beautiful Strangers. “Of course not. I’ll be amused to watch them shoot it. Nasa cast din ako ng said drama.” Lovi was quoted as saying.
About the ‘ampon’ issue thrown to her half-sister Grace Poe, Lovi sighed, “Grace is doing so well in her political career so I’ve expected it to happen. I believe at the end of the day, she’s still a Poe in the eyes of all the people who love her. I’ll thoroughly support Grace if she runs in any position come 2016.”
Speaking of politics, did you know that QC Mayor Herbert Bautista’s longtime partner Thates Gana will definitely run for councilor, QC 6th district? Openly, Herbert does not favor her to enter politics. Come to think of it, however, Thates is considered by many QC constituents as Herbert’s lucky charm, out of her indefatigable assistance to the needy ones since way back. She’s called Darling of the Press too.
Admittedly, Eula Valdes was caught unaware when she was declared best actress for Dagitab handed by the Urian Awards (Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino). Like what the others thought, Eula had in mind she would be beaten by Nora Aunor (Dementia). Nora herself elucidated joy as she congratulated Eula who, she uttered deserved the trophy in every inch.
Interestingly, the said award giving body bestowed the major awards to Indie films that attested the low budgeted stuffs’ superiority in quality over the mainstream movies. And finally acknowledged too Allen Dizon the best actor for Ang Magkakabaung. The same film gave Allen four best actor awards in U.S., Europe and Asian Film Festival.
Observers opined that if Allen was ignored by the critics, that would be painful. Imagine, after all the accolades abroad ay sa sariling bansa siya di nagwagi.
