WHY BE CAREFUL…TOUR DISAPPOINTS FANS

By | May 6, 2013

With the tour this month in Canada of the cast of Be Careful With my Heart, a top Kapamilya network TV series, much anticipated by the Pinoy communities, the teeners seem disappointed. Some of my acquaintances from Toronto and nearby places relayed why. They’ve echoed that the younger generation felt sullen that Janella Salvador and Jerome Ponce who enact Richard Yap’s kids not included in the tour.
“Of course, we’re excited to meet Richard, Jodi Sta. Maria, Aiza Seguerra, child star Mutya Orquia. Pero pinili pa ng ABS-CBN na isama yung two comediennes are who play maids rather than Jerome and Janella who have lots of admirers among youngsters.” So they lamented.
Well, according to an insider of the said tele serye, the two allegedly declined to be a part of the tour for either a conflict of schedules or their parents’ disapproval of the trip. Whatever, the brunt about Be Careful..is unquestionably, it has won umpteen followers among Pinoys worldwide.
By the way, Janella’s the daughter of singer Janine Desiderio, also of Miss Saigon fame and band leader Miguel Salvador.
Finally, Eric Makes it
For several decades of being an actor-director and TV host, Eric Quizon admits the torque of his showbiz career transpires only now. For the first time, Eric gains international recognition for his TV show Pusong Pinoy sa America. It garnered the best foreign language program award on culture in the prestigious NAMIC Vision Award s in U.S.,the only body to give awards to multi-ethnic cable programming.
Of course, the honour went to Eric who’s the host and megger of Pusong Pinoy.., with co-host Atty. Lou Tancinco.
Eric was present at the awarding rites held at L.A, California recently, together with Atty Tancinco.GMA-7 show show Kusina Master competed in the best lifestyle category. Eric previously graced the unveiling of the monument of his late dad Dolphy at the Roxas Boulevard, courtesy of Mayor Alfredo Lim, a good chum of the late Comedy King.
Trivia:
Did you know that in the -50s, the first Pinay beauty queen who joined the initial Miss Universe pageant Cristina Pacheco, a UST coed was accorded movie stardom in her film debut Destination: Saigon? The Miss Universe winner Armi Kuisela from Finland made the Philippines famous. For she fell in love, married a Pinoy businessman Virgilio Hilario despite many foreign suitors.
The duo even bannered a movie Now and Forever, produced by Deegar Cinema, with its classic theme song Minamahal Kita.
And the first bet of our country at the Miss International Editha Vital gained stardom as Maria Clara in the movie version of Noli Me Tangere. Her batch Miss International Stella Marquez duplicated Armi’s love life. She tied the marital knots with another Pinoy tycoon George Araneta. This established worldwide that Pinoys are great lovers.
For years up to this time, Stella heads the Bb. Pilipinas beauty pageant. Her husband owns the Araneta Coliseum, the yearly venue of the mentioned beauty contest.
Later, showbiz beckoned Bb. Pilipinas Universe Pilar Pilapil and Bb. Pilipinas International Cynthia Ugalde. Pilar was the partner of the late Movie King Fernando Poe Jr. in El Nino. Cynthia tackled the title of Reynang Nakabakya.
After that. FPJ got the distinction of having beauty queens as his love interests, Namely; Miss Universe runner up Chat Silayan in Ang Maestro, Mutya ng Pilipinas Lorraine Schuck in a Lea outfit movie, Bb. Pilipinas Universe Dang Cecilio, Miss Universe runner up Charlene Gonzales, Miss World first runner up Evangeline Pascual for starrers on his own firm. So with Mutya ng Pilipinas Azenith Briones for Mediavillo.
Eventually world beauty title holders Miss Universe Gloria Diaz and Miss International Aurora Pijuan , second Pinay Miss Universe Marie Moran emerged actresses too. Gloria was an overnight sensation in Pinakamagandang Hayop sa Balat ng Lupa while Aurora showcased her comic flair with Ariel Ureta in the pic Popeye and Olive. Margie top lined O Margie, Oh with singer-actor Victor Laurel.
With the exception of Pilar, Gloria and Evangeline, the rest conspicuously shied away from the limelight after starring in two or three movies. In the case of Pilar and Gloria, both have elucidated how versatile they are by remaining active to this date, with several acting awards to boot.
In the Kapamilya drama series Ina, Kapatid, Anak, Pilar holds her own against the entire cast, topped by Kim Chiu, Maja Salvador, Janice de Belen and Cherrie Pie Picache. Gloria hasn’t lost her touch as the mataray aunt of Vina Morales in May Isang Pangarap. Evengeline appears at times at ABS-CBN TV series.
Couples Clarify Issues
Close chums of two showbiz couples have clarified the strident gossips thrown to them. That because Mayor Herbert Bautista’s rejection to allow his long time partner Thates Gana to enter politics, a domicile problem erupted, leaving the duo in a silent war.
Their intimates did controvert it, reporting that Thates goes on her daily political activities to support Herbert sans any grudge on him and with cool acceptance of his decision.
On the other side, rumor soars high that there’s marital disharmony to Kristine Hermosa and Oyo Sotto. Allegedly, since Oyo said no to Kristine’s comeback in the remake of Pangako sa Iyo and the TV series offer in Malaysia for her.
“Kristine fully understands Oyo point to nix down Pangako…saying she’s still young to portray mom’s role to a grown up actress. And four months working in Malaysia would be too long away from home. So Kristine didn’t feel bad about her aborted TV return.” Her confidante voiced out.
This reminds of what transpired to Sunshine Dizon and Angelika Cruz who delineate mom to teen stars in the tele-serye Mundo Mo’y akin, good enough to be their younger siblings. As Angelika laughed,”eh pag base sa idad ko ngayon, I gave birth at the age of 8.”
Could it be for a dire need of work that compelled Angelika to accept such mother role?

Helmed by Lav Diaz, Norte top casts Sid Lucero and Archie Alemania. Lav’s Melancolia won the best film award at the Venice Film Festival years back While Piolo Pascual and Gerald Anderson’s starrer OTJ makes it at the Directors” fortnight category.
Spicy Tidbits: Did you know the latest being romantically linked to Pinoy is Bianca Manalo? Yes, she was seen dining with the president. Bianca nodded about that date but her sister joined them. Bianca seems not skittish on its effect. But swears Pony’s not courting her.
Angel Locsin chortled at what crops out, her alleged marriage plan with Phil Younghusband. She has yet to hear his wedding proposal so nothing to confirm. Anyway, her recent best actress award for One More Try from the FAMAS body served a birthday gift for her. She turned 28 last April 23.
Looks like the animosity between Claudine Barretto and her siblings Gretchen and Marjorie still exists. That could be based on the messages at the Instagrams of Gretchen, Marjorie against Claudine. Rather than admonished the duo, Claudine posted the Porsche car of her hubby Raymart Santiago at her Instagram. Reportedly, Raymart’s car nettles the anger of Gretchen, Marjorie at Claudine.
Once again, MTRCB handed Willie Revillame’s show Wowowillie a 3 months probation. Plus a memo of Strong Parental Guidance (STG) to it. Blame it on the excessive flesh, cleavage exposures of Willie’s dancers in the program.
