THE PROFILE OF A HEALER

By | May 1, 2012

The greatest healer that walked on earth is too unconventional yet so effective. He made dead people rise up from their death. He symbolizes the epitome of hope; in Him nothing is lost until one says so.

I am impressed and amazed of the power of healers. The miracle and the good it brings on man. But sadly, in deeper study and analysis, majority of healers are using this gift for personal glorification and monetary compensation. The novelty of the miracle is lost and fanaticisms follow. The belief was somehow tarnished by these men of earth with heavenly powers. These men and women came from all kinds of sectors: from priests, nuns, ordinary men and women, preacher of several religious sects and cults, and some movie stars acting like they are in a movie scene.
The bad side of this is the greed for money and self-glorification. They ask and accept money in huge amounts to build monumental effigies and images of saints and gods of their belief. They build churches and dormitories and the bill is charged to the patients and believers. They live life in extravagance with the donations and gift they received.
My legitimate questions are: what will happen to all of those monumental structures and properties they acquired and built during their short stint on earth as a healer? Will it be open to the public like when they were still alive? Will there be someone from their group as powerful and acceptable in the future? In short, will it be the same just like when they were alive? Another major question is what good would that gigantic images bring to mankind? I just can’t find any instruction from the Bible that instructed man to build gigantic images for worship. Even Moses was angered when he saw Israelites built a huge golden ram to be their image of worship. How come priests and Christians don’t see clearly that those projects are not of God but a personal desire of those who built it because it is not instructed by God, according to the Bible, and practically not of any help to man.

HEALING:
It is an inherent gift from God which all has the capability to tap. But there will be some who will be more powerful and better than the others; some who are born to heal and lead though the awakening varies from one another. The time and way it will be recognized is quite different from one another as well. But if someone is destined to be the ‘One’, then there will be no escaping your fate, only facing and accepting this gift of healing.
The decision to stick to pure healing or to dwell in commercial healing is the choice of the healer. Only during his final judgment with his Creator will he be judged accordingly; full account, nothing more, nothing less. He will be judged whether he is right or he is wrong.

TWO HEALERS:
These two healers are both of the same age and same gender but from two different sides of society. The first one served God being inside the church while the other one is so ordinary that he may have committed more sins than you. Both were awaken one day with the instruction to heal and the power to heal was given to them; both are good healers. They can make the cripple walk, the dying to be alive once more; they can make the blind see, the deft to hear, and the mute to talk. They can even drive evil spirits away from possessed patients. Mano for mano these two healers are equal in their power to heal.
But their style differs; the one starts with a mass and ends up searching the deepest side of one’s soul then healing. The other one is a healer who doesn’t look, act or think like any healer you’ve met before. He is just willing to do anything to make patients have hope with a smile on their faces. And both will leave each other with a smile on their face and in their heart in their shortened life.
The other difference is their choice on how to manage the overnight sensation of their success to heal. The man of church chooses to accept donations, build an expensive church of his own, build gigantic images of saints and gods of their belief. He decided to accept donations of all kind and live life in style.
The other one is a simple man. A man who has committed sins and goes to church during occasions, during trials, and most especially during times of need like most of the people does.
But when the gift of healing came to his life, his decision changed from being self-centered to God-centered. He believed that the gift came free so it must be given to others for free. He believed that accepting any monetary compensation will label patients as poor or rich. He believed it will create divisions among the affluent and those who have less. He decided not to accept from the poor as well as from the rich. He was ridiculed by friends, relatives, and other pretending believers for choosing to live the life of poverty in healing; poverty because his healing ministry doesn’t own anything, not a single centavo in the bank. The only means of existence of the healing ministry is his work for he still works in spite of the gift. And whatever blessings he get from his work, it pays the bills for the healing ministry. He was called a fool by logical people because money and fame is within reach and he was called dumb by rich people because they cannot get special treatment since they are all treated equally. He even provides snacks and transportation using his own money. So, he is really a fool and a dumb in the eyes of the current generation of materialism.
His own family has neither an ailment nor a problem to need a lot of money like other families. Many families spend a fortune just to have a better and healthier life. So, without any sickness from any member of the family means a monetary surplus that can be spent for the patients.
But it seems good deeds and intentions generate good people. Many patients, family, and friends now volunteers in any project this healer does. They built schools, churches, and housing for the poor and not for his benefit. These were all given free to the community. They also make livelihood projects for the poor community. All of these were done in full anonymity. They make projects with no identity, without intentions, and not even a name in their back to be glorified. They carry the name of God saying things are done because God answered your prayer. Let the glory be to God and praise to Him alone. They award and leave the entire project in the hands of the recipient, the poor brother of Christ.

Both continue to heal today and can still cure; both of them have projects. The project of that one from the church is truly momentous, gigantic, and funded with millions of pesos, yet serves no one; not man and not even God. It is just a structure without a purpose.
The other one in his small capability as man turned simple works into miracle. Made people believe more to God after experiencing the love and gift of God straight from heaven. Yes they built churches, small and simple in structure, but it changed people’s heart, it changed beliefs, it brought back people who are astray to help and love one another; he built not just a building of praise but the church of Holy Spirit. He touched the hearts of men to change for the better, to bring hope, and to experience God at its simplest way.
Time will come for both healers to face God. And both will be asked what have you done to my poor brothers? The answer is all written here.
