A colleague related what new star Bela Padilla intimated to her during the presscon of the latest Kapuso drama series Hiram na Puso. Don’t look now but because of the wide milieu of promo Bela reaps now as the controversial cover girl of the March issue of the FHM magazine, she’s said to be a big threat to Kapuso network top and most talked-about actress Marian Rivera.
My informant quoted Bela in her words that she has no plans to dislodge Marian or trying to play a ruse on Dingdong Dantes to win his attention. These, despite talks then the two were at odds.
“I’ve high respect for the two of them and I admire their being serious lovers. Wala akong balak manggulo sa dalawa. Much more so, I’ve no intention to compete with Marian, career-wise.”
Besides, Bela explained that the impact- stirred by her sexy pose was unintentional. So with her wearing a see-through attire during the mentioned presscon. She didn’t do purposely to create waves to upstage Marian.

Based on reports in the U.S. media, the international TV show Kitchen Musical, bannered by Christian Bautista and Karylle strongly vies for an award at the forthcoming New York TV Festival night. That’s the program the two headline in Singapore. Recently, it’s being telecast in the Philippines thru ABS-CBN.
Both Christian and Karylle are in pins and needles over its chances. If it garners accolades, the big chance to penetrate world market looms. Thus, giving Cristian and Karylle a momentum world-wide.
Meanwhile, heard that Christian admits to the media that he’s that way with an Indonesian celebrity. Remember, Christian remains the most popular Pinoy singer in Indonesia where his albums have made it to the top best sellers.

The decades this writer had spent in the writing field will be incomplete sans the mention of the late Fernando Poe Jr., Nida Blanca, ex-Movie Queen Amalia Fuentes, Child Wonder Nino Muhlach and Sen. Bong Revilla. Previously in this column I had written unforgettable incidents shared with them, being their long time publicist.
Still, there are other celebrities unforgettable, brought about by their distinct impressions manifested on me. Among them Eddie Gutierrez and ex-actor Bert Leroy Jr. who were chums of Amalia. For a short period, Eddie and Bert hired me as their publicist too.
As a movie producer of the war saga Pula, Puti, Bughaw, I served as it’s pro. Working with Eddie made me realize that indeed he was one of the nicest, friendliest stars. Low profile, gentleman through and through, he’s the exact opposite of his volatile, uncontrollable wife Annabelle Rama who was my friend too since a tyro in showbiz.
When Annabelle was enraged due to the item I penned about Ruffa Gutierrez, she broke her friendly ties with me. Unlike Eddie who took it objectively, showing his respect for me as a scribe. Since then, up to the time I enplaned for Canada, Eddie would greet, be cordial with me. In contrast, Annabelle consistently snubbed me.
Bert’s great love for Nida to date has been instilled in my mind. That time. Bert got me as his pro through the recommendation of Nida, his GF during those years. Their loving ways, togetherness replete with awesome concern for each other truly impressed me.
Though Nida and Bert separated years before her demise, Bert came back from U.S. upon learning of Nida-s death. In a tete-a-tete with Bert, he reiterated his love for Nida whom he categorized as a thoroughly loving, caring and dependable person. That he could find a lot of GF’s yet Nida stays one on his books.
From a family film Dolphy’s Angels to a top sexpot in the acclaimed bold pic Scorpio Nights, Anna Marie Gutierrez became admirable for true friendship she showered. Everytime we would bump into each other, or at times she had personal problems, she cried her out to me, reasoning that she had treated me as her big brother and confidante.
I still recall that at the height of Anna’s twosome with Joey de Leon , the latter befriended me also. Even they parted ways, Joey would always ask me about Anna who migrated to the U.S. Joey considered Anna somebody worth remembering.
Anna regularly communicates with this writer. Just recently, she mentioned that she’s happily married in New York, with a kid. Showing to full advantage that despite years of absence from showbiz, she remains a thoughtful person.
Among the younger crop of stars, Judy Ann Santos struck me for her being frank, truthful and broad-mind. When I was the head of the Movie Writers, Press Photographers Association of the Philippines (MOWPPAP), a project came along to raise funds, a sort of ukay-ukay.
Celebrities donated their clothes, expensive items to be sold, knowing the charitable fund raising would go to the sick, disabled and out of job movie press. One of them was Judy Ann Santos. Informed that she assisted the group, her manager chided her for he had differences with me then.
Juday was impervious. Instead, she gave more of her items to the club, as she mattered to our mutual chum Linda Rapadas. “ Bakit ba, eh di naman ako galit ke Tito Nap. Besides, mga gamit ko ang ibinibigay ko, di kanya.”
To think that Juday happened to be just a mere acquaintance. To defy the truculent act of her manager elated me. She showcased a mind of her own. That’s one of Juday’s likeable nature.

Latest talks snowball about the supposedly unexpected break up of Jolo Revilla and Kris Bernal. A version implies that Kris entrenched that Jolo simply ceased seeing her with allegedly an excuse of their flaccid relationship.
Gossip mongers have extruded her alibi. They’re inclined to believe that Jolo called it quits with Kris.”Kasi kaging kasama uli ni Kris ang ex-lover na si Jay Perillo. So it irked Jolo. Which is which?
Who knows, it can be a simple case of LQ. A reconciliation might still transpire.

The leading tabloid in the Philippines, circulation-wise, bulgar has banned the Gutierrez family. It’s the aftermath of the libel case filed by Annabelle Rama against Bulgar, its editor Janice Navida and writer Dino Erece based on the interview on Yna Asistio regarding Annabelle.
What hurts Janice falls on the fact that many times in the past she had written favorable write ups about Ruffa, Richard, Raymond and even Annabelle. And Janice just wrote what Yna revealed to her. Anyway, Bulgar’s all prepped to fight the case.
At Mother Lily’s bash, Amalia, Daisy Walk out
During the party tendered by producer Lily Monteverde for GMA-7 executive Wilma Galvante, ex-Movie Queen Amalia Fuentes and former actress Daisy Romualdez staged a walk-out. That was when Annabelle Rama surprisingly arrived. The scene proved that Amalia and Daisy still hold their grudge against Annabelle.
Anyway, despite Amalia’s differences with Annabelle, she has retained her deep friendship with Annabelle’s husband Eddie Gutierrez.
