KRIS, GOV.ER NOT ON GOOD TERMS?

By | January 13, 2012

Seemingly, the start of 2012 brings bickering between Kris Aquino and Laguna Governor ER Ejercito. It stemmed from what ER insinuated at the Metro Manila film fest awards night. That he didn’t really expect to bag the best actor trophy. It was an aftermath of what a popular TV host-actress butted it. In her TV show days before the awards rite she claimed no one could beat Dingdong Dantes. And she’s all out to support her, including her family.
Albeit ER didn’t mention it ,many surmised he referred to Kris, especially the words how influential she could be or something to that effect. By this time, knowing Kris to be outspoken, she wouldn’t let his statement unanswered. Expect Kris to mouth words not conundrum but direct to the point vs. ER. You see, since the filming of Segunda Mano which paired Kris with Dingdong, she was vocal in saying how competent in his scenes was Dingdong, a sure contender or even winner for best actor.
While it’s true ER’s starrer Asiong Salonga Story which he co-produced romped of with 11 awards, topped by the best picture and Gat. Jose Villegas Cultural trophy, ER obviously craved for acting accolade in his screen comeback. Will the animosity turn worse, leaving Kris and ER not on good terms?
Cristine Affected by Tyron’s Demise
Of the showbiz personalities, one of the most affected, crest-fallen for the death of actor Tyron Perez is Cristine Reyes. You see, Tyron was her close friend when both started in showbiz in 2003. The more the two became inseparable upon joining the starstruck talent program under GMA-7 , ending up among the ten finalists. Their closeness was kept intact until Cristine transferred to the Kapamilya network.
“Dependable friend, jolly good fellow si Tyron kaya I’ll truly miss him. Nang lumipat din siya sa ABS-CBN. he even joked din niya ako maabot dahil sikat na raw ako.” Cristine intimated to writer-chums.
After her lead role in Reputasyon, another challenging starrer awaits Cristine in Ch. 2. Heard she’ll be given another meaty assignment in the movie to be produced by Star Cinema brought about by the huge success of her past opus No Other Woman.
Trivia:
At the time deceased Ferdinand Marcos and Cory Aquino fought for the President of the country, this writer was in a quandary. Cory’s promise to bring back democracy was awesome. But the call of gratitude engulfed me. Through Mrs. Imelda Marcos, I was among the first batch of media men given permit to work again in the early months of Martial Law. I was employed at the only newspaper then Daily Express. Subsequently, I was assigned entertainment editor of its sister publication Evening Express. However, what I pondered on was the fact that years later I resigned from my job. I felt I had enough of the suppressed freedom of the press.
So, I joined Cory’s camp. Partly, I was influenced by Aga Muhlach’s dad Cheng, a diehard Cory supporter who even made his place in Quezon City a Cory campaign headquarters. And because my best friend Perla Bautista was an active member of Cory’s Yellow Ladies.
When Cory won, I was elated to receive a personal invitation from her to attend the thank you bash she tendered at the Malacanang Palace. Initially, I met and had a long chat with the teener Kris Aquino. She chuckled that showbiz world fascinated her, spent time reading movie columns. Aga Muhlach who happened to be her first actor-pal was also there. No wonder, we weren’t astounded upon Kris’s entrance to tinsel town. The more we got acquainted, particularly when she did a film with Aga for Regal Films, a smasheroo at that.
Instead of s flourished friendship, a twist of fate transpired when Kris and Paranaque mayor then Joey Marquez got romantically involved. Out of my closeness to Alma Moreno and her late publicist Mila Parawan, my write ups sympathized, favored Alma which displeased Kris. Once, Kris came across me, Unpretentious and frank person as ever, she blurted, “galit ako sa iyo, Tito Nap” then she turned her back to me.
The chance to appear in Kris’ TV show then Pilipinas Game Ka Na Ba tapped me. The MOWELFUND people, led by Boots Anson Roa prodded me to join them as participants. Hesitant, I related to Boots that Kris would mind it. Besides, I knew I was still banned from ABS-CBN due to my critical items about some of its stars. Later, Boots clarified that my ban had been lifted and my presence would be welcomed by Kris. Well indeed, she acknowledged my participation. Yet I could feel how coldly she treated me.
As the saying goes, time heals differences. Prior to my departure for Canada, several times did I chance upon Kris. Gone was the icy treatment, detachment she used to showcase as she exchanged pleasantries with me. Perhaps Kris’ trusted pal Boy Abunda appeased her for he’s a long time chum of mine who would always give his right arm to assist me. Plus the fact too that Kris was informed that like her mom Cory, I fully supported her brod Noynoy in his presidential bid.
Kris, Jolo’s Closeness. Someone Hurting?
The speculations about the real score between Kapuso star Kris Bernal and Jolo Revilla have ended, with Kris’ admission. That for sometime Jolo courted her and of late their relationship goes beyond friendship. It’s documented by Jolo’s dad Sen. Bong Revilla. He stated that at the Revilla family’s New Year bash, Kris was present, proving that she’s Jolo’s special girl. Bong grinned as he joked, “for me, OK si Kris. Huwag lang niyang pasakitin uli ang ulo ng anak ko.”
Remember, the absence of Jolo in his TV series My Binondo Girl for weeks was due to his migraine illness. He was even hospitalized. Reportedly, Kris visited him several times. How come the two become close when Jolo’s from the rival Kapamilya network? Could be because Kris co-starred with Bong in the film fest entry Ang Panday 2. At first, onlookers surmised that Jolo frequented the set just to see his dad. Yet co-workers saw Jolo giving Kris a present every time he dropped by.
With Kris and Jolo’s closeness these days, how true that someone gets so hurt? Is she the actress previously linked to Jolo or the former bf-actor of Kris said to be wooing her back?
Ai-Ai , Vice Ganda Still Feuding
Now, many won’t be surprised anymore why Ai-Ai dela Alas and Vice Ganda have never been together in a project, be it on boob tube , in the movies or in concert. While it’s true that Ai-Ai doesn’t comment if there’s something animus between them, Vice Ganda has come out in the open. According to a colleague Noel Orsal, the comedian-host broke his silence, saying he has silent feud with Ai-Ai since the time both were still comedy bar performers.
At the height of their sudden fame. Vice Ganda reportedly stressed another incident aggravated their affray. But he refused to elaborate. Noel quoted Vice Ganda as saying, “mahirap magsalita ng patapos. Pero malabo pang ma-resolve ang differences namin. But I don’t say there’s no chance to patch up,” How intriguing indeed what’s it all about.
Flash Reports:
As we go to press, Star Cinema producers announced the movie team up of the controversial lovebirds Maja Salvador and Matteo Guidicelli titled My Cactus Heart. Someone uttered in jest if Maja and her role of a fickle-minded girl have something in common. Maja butted she’s a one-man-woman and he’s none other than Matteo.
Officially, the runaway top grosser in the film fest is still Enteng Ka ng ina Mo while Segunda Mano overtakes Ang Panday 2 for second place. A kibitzer snapped, “puede pala na psychic si Kris Aquino. Imagine, weeks before the film fest somehow she assured her pic Segunda.. would win best actor for Dingdong Dantes and number two at the box office.” Could it be a fishy insinuation?
Who says Heart Evangelista has moved back again to the Kapamilya network? Currently, she’s busy with the new GMA-7 teleserye Legacy which reunites her with Geoff Eigennman after seven years. Heard too that Heart and Marian Rivera have buried the hatchet. They’re cordial to each other, so they say.
