JOHN’S ADVICE TO INAH

By | November 20, 2016

Trivia:

Interestingly, the new TV drama sensation Inah de Belen’s famous parents ex couple Janice de Belen and John Estrada are under the fold of ABS-CBN. Yet the two gave their consent to let Inah signed a contract under GMA-7. She top bills the TV series Oh My Mama, originally delineated by Maricel Soriano in the movie version.

In passing, John recounted that from her pre-teen years Inah grew up matured for her age, with a sense of independence, His foremost advice is to keep up above level with her studies despite her showbiz career. At that, it will be opportune for Inah not to entertain yet possible suitors.

Did you know, however, that in the ‘70s this writer had a direct contact with the de Belen family?  Inah’s grandfather Phillip de Belen was my officemate at the Philippine Daily Express, the only newspaper during the early days of Martial Law. He was the head of the advertising department.

To begin with, Janice started as a child actress, notably the favorite TV drama series Flordeluna where she was the headliner. It competed with the TV starrer of another child star the late Julie Vega titled Anna Lissa. Albeit an arch rival in fame, Janice and Julie were chums off cameras.

Truth to tell, their friendship heightened up when given the chance to work together in a film Tropang Bulilit, bannered by Wonder Boy Nino Muhlach, child actresses then Sheryl Cruz and Andrea Bautista (Bong Revilla’s younger sibling). Subsequently, Janice was one of those who grieved most the demise of Julie.

In her teen years, Phillip would chat with me about Janice’s showbiz crushes, the first was Gabby Concepcion, her love team in her earlier flick. Her dad mentioned too that his younger daughter Gellie de Belen joined showbiz also. Subsequently, Gellie concentrated as a TV host. Later, Gellie tied the marital knots with singing idol Ariel Rivera, dubbed the Colegiala Killer that time.

Sadly, Janice’s love life was in contrast with Gellie. Her serious romance with movie idol Aga Muhlach ended up in break up. But the duo openly admitted Aga sired her a child named Luigi. Eventually, her partnership with John was a failure too. Nevertheless, all the years John remains supportive to Janice and their kids.

Once Phillip divulged to me that he admired John for he treated well his stepson Luigi like his own child, And despite his separation with Janice, he remains a loving dad to Inah. Currently, viewers, critics and press people alike have handed her positives reviews on her performance in Oh My Mama.

Curiously, the one who enacts John’s bitter wife in Magpahanggang Wakas is his ex sister in law Gellie who efficaciously tackles the role. As usual, acting-wise Janice shines in the tele serye Be My Lady.

Marian, Angelica in a Rift?

Chums of Marian Rivera seem woolly why Angelica Panganiban apologized to her over her third movie team with Dingdong Dantes. Did Angelica feel guilty for she was carried away by their love scenes in The Unmarried Wife? Or at one time Angelica and Dingdong had a relationship?

In this light, Marian broke into laughter when queried by a scribe. “It’s funny, Nag-sorry siya di dahil sa love scenes kundi sa violent sequences nila. She hit him hard out of jealousy as the suspecting wife in the story. Added to this, the two are mere friends since way back. Angelica’s a nice person. There’s no rift between us.” Marian enthused to the writer.

With zippy reply, Marian replied that if given the chance she’s willing to co-star with Angelica in a movie project.

James-Nadine’s TV Series in Hot Water

For four episodes the James Reid-Nadine Lustre TV starrer Till I Met You had steamy love scenes shot in bed and bath tub which offended some viewers. This led them to report the objectionable sequences to Movie, TV Review board (MTRCB), Out of it, its head Eugenio Villareal summoned the show’s director, writer and producer to attend the meeting with the board on Nov. 11.

Reportedly, the people behind Till I Met You took cognizance of their unintentional mistakes. By this time, both parties would have settled the said issue with the promise of ABS-CBN management to abide by the rules of the MTRCB. Curiously, heard that Till I Met top brasses dispelled the talks that the sudden dip in the rating of the tele-serye compelled them to add the passionate scenes.

Paolo Wins Best Actor at the Tokyo Film Festival

A hit during the red carpet of the 27th Tokyo International Film Festival as Angelina Jolie, Paolo Ballesteros won the best actor for Die Beautiful in its awards night. In his acceptance speech, he elicited laughter when he remarked. “I thought I’d win best actress for my transgender role.”

The same film was named the Audience Choice Award earlier, with its megger Jun Luna accepting the award. Both Paolo and Jun are hopeful Die Beautiful will be a box office hit when shown in the Philippines.

Currently, Paolo has finished filming his new starrer Bakit Lahat ng Pogi may Boyfriend that banners also Dennis Trillo

Blind Item:

To recall, this popular young actress never mentioned about her father since her showbiz two years.  But she talked a lot about her bonding time with her mom. Just recently, writer-pals buzzed around on the gossip relayed by one of the actress’ relatives. The topic is on her paternal background.

“Allegedly, her real dad happened to be a famous actor then who had passed away. He belonged to a showbiz clan. Asked about it, she just smiled, didn’t utter a word.” My source divulged. In any case, others don’t believe for the actress doesn’t have the facial features of the deceased actor.

Anne Curtis Achieves New Goal

As Philippine UNICEF ambassador, Anne Curtis has achieved a new goal when she participated, finished the popular New York 42 kilometer marathon. Contrary to what critics cerebrated she wouldn’t make it, she did it triumphantly, showing no pressure at all. Anne posted it at her Instagram with a message, “I ran for the Filipino Youth.”

According to Anne, prior to the said marathon she had practiced three times a week right after she wrapped up filming Bakit Lahat ng Pogi may Boyfriend, opposite Dennis Trillo, with Paolo Ballesteros in the cast.

Current Items:

At this writing, Congresswoman Lani Mercado still feels perturbed by the condition of her hubby ex-senator Bong Revilla who’s confined at St. Luke’s Global for severe hypertension. The doctors have not revealed yet his real illness. But Lani worries for their family has the history of aneurysm.

Robin Padilla adumbrates that he could accept back Aljur Abrenica as his daughter Kylie Padilla’s lover provided he will be truthful to his words of really loving her to the hilt this time. To recount, Kylie and Aljur broke off in 2013 amid Robin’s ire. The two have reconciled days back.

Once more, bashers of Kris Aquino bedaub her reputation upon her announcement her new TV show definitely airs on TV-5. They throw bilious opinion that for sure Kris would never regain her popularity, what with the weak viewership of the mentioned network. However, not a few surmise it’s a ditsy allegation for Kris won’t be tagged Queen of All Media for nothing.

Did you know that there’s mutual admiration between Piolo Pascual and Maine Mendoza? The duo met in person in the shooting of the commercial of Banco de Oro where both are endorsers. Its director Joyce Bernal who’s their mutual friend visibly noticed the kilig factor elucidated by the duo.

A pen pusher queried Piolo if given the opportunity will he woo Maine? Reportedly, he simply grinned, saying, “Baka suntukin ako ni Alden Richards.”

As usual, the two leading TV survey companies AGB Nielsen and Kantar Philippines have contrasting reports on the top viewership in the boob tube, from morning to evening. AGB favors all the programs of GMA-7 while Kantar would announce ABS-CBN shows practically clobber the rival network by and large, led by the top rater Ang Probinsyano.

Those in the know comment that AGB-Nielsen happens to be the original survey group so more believable. Others remark Kantar has bigger in scope and more reliable. Ah, your guess is as good as ours.
