Hollywood Hills

Danny my eldest grandson has lived and worked out of New York City for the last two years. In the beginning of March this year we got a call from him asking for help to settle him in Hollywood Hills where is relocating for an indefinite period of time.
Part of his contract with Sony Studio is to develop new talents both in New York and L A. A very busy young guy, right now he is back in New York coaching singers in America Got Talents where we can briefly see him on TV sometimes every week. He loves New York, it’s only an hour flight away from home in Toronto where he likes to touch base every occasion he gets.
As soon as we got his call, yours truly, grandma Mercy, Mommy May and Dad Bill flew to L A on the second week of March, curious and anxious how his new place in L A looks like.
As we drove this narrow, winding, twisting roads, I didn’t say anything but I thought it was dangerous driving, why they call this area exclusive and very popular with movie personalities, I don’t understand.
The house that he chose to lease is on the second highest level of the hills, the only good thing is you can walk to the big Hollywood sign.
As we arrive in front of the house, I thought to myself, oh my gosh, is this the Hollywood Hills home they are talking about? How small and how low, it’s looks like a small bungalow like all the rest of the neighborhood.
As we go in the house, we were in for a big surprise, the small looking house from the street level is huge. In the street level is the 2 garages and two bedrooms but as you go down 15 plights of stairs, where the high-celinged living-dining room, kitchen and the master bedroom and two bathrooms are located the place is really stunning, airy and bright, with glass all around.
As we go down a few more steps, there was Danny’s state-of-the-art studio and his large bedroom. There’s a few more unoccupied rooms in the lowest level but I guess it is reserved for clients who come continuosly any time of day and night as long as Danny is available.
All the houses in the neighborhood are built against the hill, this particular house that Danny is renting has no backyard, built on a sloping lot, if you fall from the deck you will roll down to the swimming pool of the house on the lower level.
The few days that we were in Hollywood Hills, we enjoyed the parade of luxury cars of Danny’s clients that come to his studio, Mercedez Bench, Bmw’s and Lexus in all shape and sizes. When I asked Danny why that is, he said if artists come in driving a crappy car, the impression is that the artist is not making money, I guess that’s Hollywood for you.
The new song he wrote for the upcoming group British “One Direction” is already out and another song entitled “Maria” for Justin Beiber has already been released. After the America’s Got Talent season is over, he will be back to his stunning Hollywood Hills home. *****
