The demise of the remarkable showbiz figure ex-actor turned senator Ramon Revilla Sr. left me in grief. For he was my pal since the ‘60s. I vividly remember that prior to my stay in Canada, I was elected president of the Movie Writers & Press Photo Photographers Association of the Philippines (MOWPPAP). Ramon offered to induct the officers at his place in Cavite and to bring my family. Unexpectedly, he threw a bash for us after the induction.
To begin with, this writer became Ramon’s chum through his long time publicist the late Rudy dela Pena, my intimate friend. Most of the time then Rudy would tag me along in going to Ramon’s digs or during his filming a movie. This made me acquainted to all his children, led by action star turned politician SenatorBong Revilla.
In his early years as movie star Ramon was among showbiz glamour boys when he was under contract with Sampaguita Pictures. In several flicks, he got the lead roles, opposite top actresses Gloria Romero, Lolita Rodriguez and Myrna Delgado, to name some.
When Ramon was appointed Intelligence Officer of the Bureau of Customs, Ramon opted to momentarily quit the movie profession. However, in his comeback trail the more phenomenal accolades, distinctions impacted his career.
That was the time Ramon decided to produce movies on true to life controversial characters, ignited by the notorious Nardong Putik of Cavite. Subsequently, the film-bios came out led by Pepeng Agimat, Juaquin Bordados, Magnong Akyat and Akin Ang tondo, sa Iyo and Cavite. All these stuffs plus others Ramon produced under his Imus Productions.
Practically all his starrers had agimat or amulet owned by the main characters that paved the way to this title Agimat King of Local Movies. His other triumphant moments occurred during his achievements as FAMAS best actor 1973, Box Office King, Most Oustanding Actor and Lifetime Achievement Award handed by the Catholic Mass Media in 2011. Ramon’s last movie was Exodus:Tales of Enchanted King prior to his serious ailment then.
Curiously, Ramon had been vocal to admit he had 72 children which started in his younger years, a truly unbreakable record. Frankly, never did he take his back to all his kids, much to the admiration of his original family, led by Bong.
Speaking of Bong, one time Ramon confided to me that his teen son Bong would fly back to the Philippines from U.S. where he finished his early schooling. “I invite you to grace my welcome bash for him. You see, he’s interested to join showbiz.” Ramon divulged. That event ushered in my friendship with Bong. Truth to tell, during the time I served as one of his publicists in his political career, Bong mentioned that his dad was jubilant to know about it.
Before Ramon died last June 26, Bong sighed in recounting that his dad fulfilled his wish to be reunited with his family on Father’s Day which occurred on June 21. Yet they never expected what he uttered would be his last words for them.
Vce Ganda Defends Ion from Bashers
A colleague did hush-hush to this writer that Vice Ganda reacted to the putative words of bashers Ion Perez has turned gay because of him. Ion who’s in the show It’s Showtime has been Vice Ganda’s boyfriend for quite a time. My co-writer quoted Vice Ganda in saying he allegedly allows Ion to court girls. And he never influences Ion of gay acts as others twaddle around.
About Ion, obviously bashers have enraged him, retaliated at his social media accounts with razz words to them. Added to this, heard that he expressed lots of macho men have affairs with limp wrists but remain real men, ending up with families of their own. Ah, what new with this kind of showbiz brouhaha.
Vic’s Joke Creates Stir
The recent joke of Vic Sotto has stirred many. That transpired when Tarlac Mayor Donya Tesoro participated in the Bawal Judgemental segment of the TV show Eat Bulaga. Impressed with her beauty and talent, Vic cajoled he yearns for his son Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto to woo her.
What ensues falls on the unanimous reaction of viewers of the said show that hopefully the duo will end up a couple. They’ve commented Vico and Donya fit each other to the hilt. How about the rumor on Bea Alonzo? The sweet moment photos of Bea and Vico posted at her social media accounts impacted the rumor also that he falls for her. The incident happened when Bea dropped by his office to hand donations for the COVID-19 victims.
At this writing, Vico allegedly quipped with a grin. “I’m so occupied with my mayoral task Much as I want, wala munang romantic involvement.”
Aga’s Happy for Son Luigi
At the time of COVID 19 pandemic, Aga Muhlach’s son Lugi (by first girlfriend Janice de Belen) decided to stay at his rest house in Tagaytay City, with his wife Patty and four kids. Informed by Luigi they will stay there for good, Aga is happy for them to enjoy exploration, commune with nature.
“As Luigi grew up then, aside from his passion for businesses, he would want his children to be lover of nature. Doon sa Tagaytay, “Luigi would achieve it. This early, the kids are truly excited spending time seeing the scenic views and rural life.” Aga was quoted to say.
Aga disclosed to my source that his wife Charlene Gonzales and their children remain in a pleasant communication with Luigi and his family .About his showbiz career, Aga is all set to start a new project which was previously shelved out of the corona virus.
No Bitterness for Liza and Enrique
With the cancellation of their TV series Make it With You unlike other TV dramas which have resumed taping, lead stars Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil not bitter. Contrary to the speculation the two have negative reaction against ABS-CBN management, they have mollified followers.
As Liza injected, there’s a purpose for it and not to put their team down. Much more so, Liza’s manager Ogie Diaz affrmed that a new project has already been ready for the pair, a bigger, more interesting plot at that. These days just for fun, Liza and Enrique make contradicting conclusion of the supposed ending of Make it With You.

So it’s true that after three years being lovers, mapping out plan to tie the marital knots is the priority of a showbiz couple. Reportedly, the actress showed to the scribes who’ll be their marital entourage, the place to say I do plus the possible date of marriage.
However, latest talks imply these days the actress seems on the verge of backing out. Allegedly, her mom discouraged her, saying she’s too young to marry, Will she postpone the altar date? If this pushes through, will he split with her, out of disappointment?

An acclaimed comedy film titled Pangarap Kong Holdap made it as the first Filipino pic to make it as top one after 24 hours of its premier in Netplix as reported. The foreign viewers have echoed it’s an unusual, well- crafted comic stuff. The cast headed by Jerald Napoles, Paolo Contis and Pepe Herrera didn’t anticipate the viewership success abroad of their starrer. To think that despite critically lauded, it was a mere so-so at the tills locally.
ABS-CBN broadcaster Kim Atienza proudly declared his elation over his dad Congressman Lito Atienza words of defense for the network. Lito called the attention of colleagues that ABS-CBN bigwigs have already expounded every detail of complaints thrown to the station. And they should refrain on issues not among the cases filed against the management.
Admittedly, Willie Revillame is loveless, quite sad but happy about one of his exes Princess Punzalan who’s now U.S. based registered nurse. Currently, she enacts the lead role in American pic The Interview. Princess was discovered by a Hollywood agent in an acting workshop. Its shooting will soon resume, halted due to the COVID-19 pandemics. As Willie asserted, with her talents, she deserves the break in U.S. films.
