The second actor from the same firm who bagged the best actor trophy as Diego Silang, the rebel leader in the Fil-Spanish war was Jose Padilla Jr. that propelled him one of the top actors also. When Premiere put on screen the heroine wife of Diego, none other than Gabriela Silang, the actress who portrayed the role Leila Morena not only rose to fame but accorded the best actress plum.
Popularly known as the first to enact the Pinay super heroine Darna, Rosa del Rosario reached new height in acting as Melchora Aquino or Tandang Sora. During the time Andres Bonifacio founded the Katipunan who took a stand against the Spaniards for the freedom of the Philippines, Tandang Sora wholeheartedly assisted the Katipuneros in the fight for liberty. Rosa was also declared best actress for her portrayal of Tandang Sora.
When Premiere Productions brought to the wide screen the historical novel Noli Me Tangere by Rizal, Anita Linda got the lead female role of Sisa, the ill-fated mom of Basilio which the FAMAS body acknowledged by giving her first best actress award.
