Co-workers at the set of the TV series Ikaw Lamang, have observed something of a romantic air seems tapping Coco Martin and KC Concepcion. Much more so when Coco declared in an interview that he’s attracted to KC, wants to know her better as a private person. Albeit he didn’t confide he would be wowing KC, that’s the general consensus of many.
At that, gossip-mongers have already sensed a brewing tiff between Coco and the ardent suitor (or secret lover?) of KC, none other than Paulo Avelino who’s said to be the jealous type. In this light, KC reportedly stated to a scribe.
“That’s quite funny. I’m still on the knowing stage about Coco. Kahit naririnig kong madalas that he’s an ideal man of countless girls. In the case of Paulo, we’ve no serious relationship but I admit he’s always there to support, protect and be affectionate to me.”
Another buzzing rumor indicates that one time Paulo allegedly confronted Coco to verify what he truly feels on KC. Whether true or not, it’s not whipper-snapper to predict that the intrigues would usher in a TV or movie project for the three.
Toronto Fans Await, Vhong, Anne, Billy, Karylle; Vice Ganda in Hot Water
The live show of It’s Showtime in Canada on Sept. 20, 21 has made Toronto fans to eagerly anticipate to see in person its hosts Vhong Navarro, Anne Curtis, Vice Ganda, Billy Crawford and Karylle. But did you know that days back Vice Ganda was put in hot water?
For the record, the Movie, TV Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) summoned Vice Ganda and the people behind It’s Showtime to a vital meeting. The board found that at times, the antics of Vice Ganda and words thrown were objectionable, particularly to the kids. That if it would persist, the children should not be allowed to watch the show live.
At this writing, looks like the issues have been settled down. Lately, Vice Ganda often voiced out his concern for the children watching the program. Still, there’s a trace of arrogance in him as he would mouth statement like this, “eh bakit lahat namang tao nagkakamali. Who’s perfect anyway?
Whatever, hopefully the crowds in Toronto and Edmonton will truly be entertained, amazed by the performances, surprising portions to be provided by It Showtime hosts, its director and producers.

The sad news of the recent death of award winning actor Mark Gil (Ralph Eigennman off-screen) of liver cancer at 52 brings to my memory the famous Eigennman family. From the ‘50s. Mark’s parents Eddie Mesa (Eddie Eigennman) and Rosemarie Gil were re known as the Singing Idol (Elvis Presley of the Philippines) and a dramatic actress turned famous kontrabida .Then Eddie chose to live in U.S. for several years. Upon his arrival in the Philippines, Eddie re-entered showbiz. That was the time we became close friends and one of those who helped him to regain fame through publicity. Once more, Eddie was in demand singer and made blockbuster starrers. Among them Let’s Do the Freddie with Susan Roces, I Just Need your Love with Amalia Fuentes and co-star with Helen Gamboa in operation: Discotheque.
The couple sired three children, Michael de Mesa, Cherrie Gil and Mark who all rose to the pedestal as versatile actors. The last time I met Eddie was during the wake of the late Fernando Poe Jr., his best friend way back their Premiere Productions days in the ‘50s. Purposely Eddie enplaned to the Philippines to share the grief with FPJ’s family. In passing, Eddie mentioned he was an active pastor in a U.S. church and would frequently sing in the choir.
Prior to my stay in Canada, I bumped into Mark at the GMA-7 compound. He divulged that his pre-teen fun at San Pablo city remained memorable to him. “Kaya di kita makalimutan Tito Nap.” As he tapped me on my shoulder. Mark’s retentiveness surely touched me.
