A GAP BETWEEN KATHRYN AND NADINE EXISTS?

A hot item being circulated by gossipers of late indicates that a gap exists now between Kathryn Bernardo and Nadine Lustre. It’s an open book that the two have maintained friendship albeit their rivalry, career-wise. Kathryn’s love team with Daniel Padilla and Nadine’s partnership with James Reid all the more yields in their intense popularity.

However, the finale of Nadine-James TV series On the Wings of Love that apparently outshone the ending of Pangako sa Iyo which bannered Kathryn-Daniel pair did spell the big difference. On the Wings… was given a special live presentation witnessed by thousands of their followers. Adding the kilig factor was the duo’s announcement they’re already a couple off cameras. This ignited the tandem to make it big even in the social media, reportedly eclipsing the fame of Kathryn-Daniel.

Since then, the scenario allegedly harmed the friendly relationship of Kathryn and Nadine. Rumor-mongers point out a gap exists as it’s bruited about that in several occasions Kathryn gave Nadine a cold shoulder treatment, out of professional jealousy.

A colleague who professes to be attached to Kathryn, however, dispelled such talk which this statement. “on the contrary, Kathryn feels happy on the ongoing success of Nadine and James. Snooky’s rival that time was Liezl, the late daughter of Amalia Fuentes. Liezl top billed Portrait of an Angel, Poor Little Rich Girl and Pinokyo and Little Snowhite with the deceased Comedy King Dolphy.The top child stars in the early ‘70s were Janice de Belen and the late Julie Vega whose TV drama starrers Flordeluna and Anna Lisa fought it out in viewership on the same time slot. Then Sheryl Cruz shared the spotlight too when the late Fernando Poe jr. got her in Ang Leon at ang Kuting.

In 1974, a remarkable change occurred with the instant stardom of the first child actor to make it big, none other than the boy Wonder of Philippine movies Nino Muhlach. It was the late Fernando Poe Jr. who gave Nino a break opposite him in Leon at Dag and Tutubing Kalabaw, Tutubing Karayom.

Subsequently, Nino’s dad Alex founded D’Wonder Films, with a series of Nino’s blockbuster starrers. At 5, Nino was featured in the U.S. business newspaper as the youngest boy millionaire in the world through his own earnings. This ushered the American children show Big Blue Marble and a top European kid program to enplane to the Philippines just o feature Nino at the set of his film. Up to the age of 12, Nino top billed vehicles that to date remains unmatched by any other Pinoy child performers.

Japanese Actress Apologizes to Cesar Montano

The recent interview of DJ Mo in his radio show with Japanese actress Maria Ozawa created a brouhaha, what with her declaration on sex issue with Cesar Montano. She admitted to have a one night stand with Cesar even before the filming of the movie with Cesar titled Nilalang had started.

After the media reacted putting Maria in bad light, she blamed DJ Mo for causing it all. That he deleted what she said that it was a mere joke, just to be funny. Maria’s enraged on how DJ Mo and some media men could be cruel to her sans asking her side. Later, Maria apologized to Cesar who commented he took in stride.

Barbie Forteza Wins Best Actress Award in Portugal Film Festival

What do you know? GMA-7 young actress Barbie Forteza feels vindicated that after some bashers threw stricture on her looks, acting capabilities, she was declared best actress in the 36th Fontaforto International Film Festival held in Portugal. Barbie won for her role of a native Badjao in the Indie film Laut.

Its director Louie Ignacio accepted the trophy on behalf of Barbie plus the special honor handed for the said movie Jury Award. Louie mentioned in passing he got Barbie for Laut when she bagged the best actress award in Mariquina at the Cine Malaya film Festival. He had proven himself right to those who did not want him to assign it to Barbie.

The cast of the TV series “That’s My Amboy” congratulated Barbie at the set, led by her love team Andre Paras. Incidentally, the two will have series of shows in U.S. this March, together with Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola and Paolo Ballesteros.

ABS-CBN Helmer Found dead; Talent Manager in Comatose

Hardly had ABS-CBN director Wenn Deramas passed away, another Kapamilya Helmer Franco Pasion was found dead at his abode. At this writing, there’s ongoing investigation if a foul play has something to do with his death. Franco directed the hit drama series On the Wings of Love.

Meanwhile, Kapamilya talent manager Cornelia Lee, better known as Angge remains in comatose at the hospital. She suffered a heart attack as reported. During her teen years, Angge was a fanatic fan of Susan Roces. The later paved the way for Angge to crash showbiz as a comedienne, TV coordinator and eventually as a talent manager. ABS-CBN Bigwigs Patch up Cristine Reyes-Vivian Velez Rift

Execs and staff of the Kapamilya TV series Tubig At Langis patched the much ballyhooed feud of Cristine Reyes and vet actress Vivian Velez. Vivian accused Cristine of humiliating her at the set several times. This compelled Vivian to tender a resignation. Only the intervention of the series staff and the personal apology of Cristine to her altered her decision.

However, Vivian agreed to shoot her remaining scenes provided Cristine won’t be included in the sequences. Ah, it was not the first time Cristine fought with her colleagues, including her own sister Ara Mina. In fairness to Ara, she still manifested her sisterly love by defending Cristine, saying people should exude trenchant for her due to emotional outbursts brought about by personal problems.
