Balita

Our journey continuous

We have so many things to be thankful for. We are still healthy and enjoying our retirement and doing Balita on the side.

Being retired is a blessing as some did not reach this age to enjoy their lives.  We are thankful that we are provided for,  our government is giving us what we deserved and what we worked hard for. Now the best life is seating in your family room watching movies after movies till you fall asleep.

Seniors in Canada are getting grants to enjoy, I have been joining the seniors’ trips of Markham Federation of Filipino Canadians going places, some I have been, but it is the company that matters, we love to see those places again.

Another group of friends Vilma, Grace, Amy and Virgie that I am with are going around Ontario for days, going to churches, and enjoying the  little towns that we have missed while taking care of our growing family.

Going abroad once or twice a year is another accomplishment that we should be thankful for. At our age, we have been to majority of the countries in the world. Cruises, group tours, pilgrimages, and cultural trips with the Fiesta Filipina Dance Troupe. Not counting the trips that I did with my late husband while seeking miracles for his healing.

With Balita we stopped for two months during the pandemic and when we resumed, we were welcomed back by our advertisers. We also have new columnists, Edwin de Leon, Rey Moreno, Edwin Esteba, Butch Galicia, Dexter Garcia and Baby Jimenez.   Nap Alip and Perry Diaz are both on medical leave.  Nick Kossovan  is now a consistent contributor. Mogi Mogado remains our associate editor despite his busy sculpting hobby.

With proper handling, monies lost were gained back with more. But  the bad memories of what happened in the process stays in your mind and hoping that it doesn’t happen with everyone else.

I became a scape goat, everyone knows that, everyone that knew what happened years ago, could attest and are very supportive but could not do anything. And what about those that started a fight because we poked his ego.

These  culprits are probably rejoicing as they have never seen that kind of monies in their lives but their conscience who are dictated by evil will surely wonder if their loved ones will be saved from it, as Karma has a way of getting back.
